Amazon Games Pulls The Plug On Crucible

Amazon Games is shutting down Crucible’s servers on November 9. The free-to-play hero shooter has been out for a little under 6 months. Despite its three, vastly different multiplayer modes and extensive cast, Crucible had difficulties finding success as well as a large-scale, dedicated playerbase. Amazon Games promises that players who have purchased Crucible microtransactions will, ultimately, be refunded.

We enjoyed Crucible’s moment-to-moment engagements for the most part, but felt that many of its highlights weren’t very memorable. Amazon Games’ Crucible was slated to be a substantial first foray into game development. With this sudden cancellation, it’s hard to speculate what Amazon Games’ plans are for the future.
