Call of Duty: Warzone Xbox Series X video shows huge leap over Xbox One version

We now have a better idea of how Call of Duty: Warzone looks on Microsoft’s new machines compared to its older Xbox One models.

If you’ve wanted to get a good look at how Call of Duty: Warzone looks on a base Xbox One compared to an Xbox Series X, you’re in the right place.

A new comparison video from ElAnalistaDeBits shows the graphical differences between Activision’s free-to-play battle royale game on Microsoft’s machines.

The jump between the consoles is fairly staggering, especially at its most extreme. The Xbox One looks much worse running muddy textures at 900p than it does on the Xbox Series X’s crisp 4K. Of course, that is to be expected, but seeing the leap is still a stark contrast.

One of the other big differences between the new and old generation is the load times. The Xbox Series S and the Xbox Series X both get into a match within eight to nine seconds, while the Xbox One and Xbox One X take around twenty. That is that solid-state drive in action.

These kinds of comparison videos are always very useful. Without all the tech jargon buzzwords, we can get a good look at simply what a video game looks like on a new console compared to one we already own.

Even as we move into a new generation though, older games are going to play an important role in the library of these consoles. Especially in a landscape where service games remain ever-popular, comparisons of how current favourites run are going to be important.

For a game like Call of Duty: Warzone, one of the most popular games in the world, that is doubly true.

Call of Duty: Warzone launched in March of this year in the wake of 2019’s Modern Warfare reboot. In December, player progression will be syncing up across both of the aforementioned titles, as well as the upcoming Black Ops Cold War.
