#Roommates, the fallout from the U.S. Capitol riots by Trump supporters continues, as additional punishments have been made involving unlikely sources. It was just announced that two U.S. Capitol police officers have been officially suspended due to their alleged involvement as the riots were happening.
@CNN reports, as multiple people have already been arrested for their involvement in the U.S. Capitol riots that have currently left six people dead, new consequences have been handed down from inside the Capitol. It was recently confirmed that two Capitol Police officers were suspended for their alleged involvement in the riots, according to Rep. Tim Ryan; who is chair of the House Appropriations subcommittee handling the investigation into the police response to the Capitol attack last week.
“I know that there were two people that were suspended,” Ryan confirmed during a recent phone call with media outlets. “One was the selfie officer and another was an officer that put a MAGA hat on that started directing some people around,” he said.
Additionally, Ryan also said that there are approximately 10 to 15 Capitol Police officers under investigation for their behavior during the riot, but he did not have specific details.
As we previously reported, many of the pro-Trump rioters seen in the viral photos from inside the U.S. Capitol have already been arrested and formally charged regarding their role in the attack—and more arrests are expected in the coming days.
