Roommates, some of the Trump rioters who broke into the U.S. Capitol building earlier today took things an unbelievable step further by breaking into the offices of select Congress members. The pro-Trump protestors sat behind the desks of members of Congress wearing MAGA gear and holding flags.
Members of the pro-Trump mob broke into the U.S. Capitol building targeting members of Congress—including the office of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, where they left a threatening message.
One disturbing photo shows an unidentified man with his feet up on Nancy Pelosi’s desk next to a folder with the writing, “WE WILL NOT BACK DOWN” in red ink. Another shows a Trump supporter wearing a MAGA hat and holding a flag while rummaging through the office of another Congress member.
However, the outrageous photos didn’t stop there, as an additional picture shows someone — with their face exposed and smiling for the camera — walking off with a lectern with the House Speaker’s logo on it, but it’s unclear if the lectern was taken from Pelosi’s office or from another location.
During the riots, Pelosi put out a statement with Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer calling for President Trump to intervene. “We are calling on President Trump to demand that all protestors leave the U.S. Capitol and Capitol Grounds immediately,” the statement read.
Dozens of Trump supporters breached security perimeters at the U.S. Capitol and lawmakers inside the House chamber were told to put on gas masks as tear gas was fired in the Rotunda.
A pro-Trump mob was also seen inside the Senate chamber. One person got up on the dais and yelled “Trump won that election,” as several dozen roamed through the halls, yelling “Where are they?” according to a pool report.
